Law_of_Introduction_East_Week Day 06

Process refers to how things are done rather than what is done.  Because Process is everywhere and involves everything we do, how do we become aware of it and the consequences of different kinds of processes that we may be using unconsciously?

Edgar Schein, The Corporate Culture Survival Guide

Daily Guidance:

Today we will take an in-depth look at a few more inner circle Laws on the Wisdom Wheel; the fifth Law of Cause & Effect, the sixth Law of Process and the seventh Law of Faith.

Cynthia's Journal:

During the introductory week, we tour the first eight Laws of the inner circle. So far you've read about the first four; Balance, Awareness, Self and Right Relationship.

The fifth Law in the sequence is Cause & Effect. Sometimes referred to as the Law of Karma and consequences, this Law reminds us how hard it is to link actual causes to their ultimate effects. The mental effects of physical abuse for instance, or the emotional needs of spiritual seekers. The Wheel helps sort things that might otherwise be too overwhelming, painful or confusing to consider. It also indicates complimentary ways to rebalance negatives with positives.

Those who believe in reincarnation think our actions have consequences beyond this lifetime.  Those who do not believe in reincarnation think more about the Cause & Effect of the here & now instead of the hereafter. These beliefs themselves can cause different effects in the lives of those whose decisions are based upon one belief or the other. Consider what some of the causes and effects would be if you studied the Wisdom Wheel seriously. Motivations and intentions are one category of mental causes.

Law number six is Process.  As part of the learning Process with each Law, we cite experts who have studied the subject in depth.  Edgar Schein is a widely respected Process consultant, a ‘guru.’  In 1969 he wrote a classic book about Process Consultation: Its’ Role in Organization Development.

In my former career as a management consultant, I focused on the Process of globalization. Twenty years spent overseas, living and working in eight different countries, had made me acutely aware of the globalization Process and its effects on personal and professional life. I was proud to become the first executive education consultant to specialize in the human side of globalization, when I started my own business in 1988, doing global management development. Globalizing products and services are one thing, but globalizing human potential has always the most interesting part of the Process for me. Educating the mind of the global manager is only the beginning. The global heart and the global spirit are also part of the Process.

Each Process, whether it is running a business or studying the Wisdom Wheel, is best accomplished when there is an appreciate of the whole; the whole person, the whole system and the whole world. Without this overview, the Process will be incomplete and the efforts will not be sustainable.

Take a few moments to think about Process. Do you see it primarily as an intellectual, physical or spiritual activity? Use what you've already learned about the quadrants of the Wheel to focus on how you Process ideas, emotions and opportunties to test your ability to apply the Process.

Most entries include questions to get you thinking about life and the Laws.  When you combine Laws you can generate new questions;

By what Process does a person become more aware?

By what Process can a person achieve Right Relationship with a child, a spouse, a career and/or all the above?

Faith is the seventh Law on the Wisdom Wheel. We put our Faith in many things - ideas, people, religions. Some people have no Faith in the globalization Process.  Some have more Faith in the localization Process. Do you have Faith in this Process with the Wisdom Wheel?

Tomorrow we’ll look at the last Law of the inner circle on the Wisdom Wheel.
