Law_of_Introduction_East_Week Day 01

The mandala of the Medicine Wheel represents the sun, the earth, the water and the four winds. On that level it stands for the creation of the world, but it can also stand for the progression of a single day and night...as it can also represent the circle of human life, from birth to death, and the spirit road beyond.

Daily Guidance:

We begin to study the Wheel by learning about the significance of the Directions.  This picture shows what a small, personal set of Wisdom Wheel stones looks like when seen from the East.  Imagine you are sitting on the East side of the Wheel, facing West.  The Wheels were the worlds’ first compasses.  The stones are always laid out in accordance with the actual directions: North, South, East and West.

Cynthia's Journal:

The East Direction is where the sun comes up and the day begins.  The East is often called the Place of New Beginnings.  Since this series of daily emails represents a new beginning, you are being introduced to the Wheel from the sun rise perspective.  Whether it’s the Journey of a single day, a week, a month, a year or an entire lifetime, the East symbolizes a starting point.

Did you notice the full moon last night?  The Wheel represents the lunar phases as well as the solar ones.  East is the place of the full moon.  We use a lunar calendar to start Wisdom Wheel study cycles because it is the oldest, most ‘natural’ calendar we have.  And it's the same moon everywhere, no matter what language we speak or what other kinds of calendars we have.

The Wheel itself is a reflection of Nature, in much the same way as the moon reflects the sun. Each lunar month, we end the study of one Law and begin another. To study each Law on the Wisdom Wheel we ‘carry’ it round the Wheel, making a full four week rotation so we'll have time to consider our subject from all angles. Lunar months are approximately 28 days long and a lunar week can vary in length from 6 to 9 days.

Our modern lifestyles sometimes cause us to lose touch with the moon's cycles and the ebb and flow of Nature. Studying the Wheel can restore your sense of peace and harmony. The changing tides around the Island where these emails come from are daily reminders of Nature's Power over the elements. The phases of the moon regulate the highest and lowest tides, moving billions of metric tons of water.  Our bodies are 70% water, in the same proportion as the Earth's landmass to water ratio. The lunar calendar regulates the monthly cycles of humans too, as most women know. Women were the first time-keepers and the first circlekeepers.

Doing ‘timeless things in a timeless way’ can help you Balance all the fluctuating ups and downs in the manmade world. The Wheel is a reminder of the timeless perspective on life.  Whether the news is good or bad, the stock market is rising or falling, you can count on the Wheel to remain steady. These regular emails are designed to help prospective students test the usefulness of the Wheel in their daily lives. You will receive a daily reminder about where you are in your monthly Journey around the Wisdom Wheel.  The emails will always look like this, with quotation, references to books and authors and some information about the Wheel and/or the Laws. These emails take less than two minutes a day to read. To get the most out of them, try to begin your day with them, like you drink your morning tea or coffee.

The Wheels originated between 20,000 to 50,000 years old. There is a lot to learn about how they work.  You will systematically peel the down through the layers of wisdom while using the Wheel itself to direct this multi-level Process.

The 36 Universal Laws, written upon the 36 stones of the Wisdom Wheel, are also known as Natural and/or Spiritual Laws.  You will learn more about the Laws tomorrow.  The Wisdom Wheel, developed by Cynthia Davidson, is the first to combine the teachings of the ancient Wheels with the wisdom of Universal Laws.
