Anam Cara in Gaelic means soul friend.  Soul-to-soul relationships start with the wisdom of soul knowledge. This book, written by former priest, poet, philosopher, and scholar John O’Donohue, reminds us why so many return to Nature to grow spiritually.  Our souls seem to call us back to Nature. The Wisdom Wheel makes a good compass for those who want to find a way back to the natural spiritual world.  The 12 Laws around the outer circle represent the twelve months of the year, and the cyclical changes Nature goes through. The time of year we were born is also when we entered this circular frame of the natural year.  The 12 Birth Laws fall into the Four Seasons: You can find out more about your Birth Law once you become a Subscriber at our website. Spring

Enlightenment It is our most sacred task, to be Light and to bring Light.  Could this be so hard?  What allows it and what prevents it? 

Beauty There is so much Beauty in this world.  If you can not see it, your vision has clouded over.  Silence the Judge and the Critic within and you will see Beauty abundantly, in yourself and others. 

Eternal Present This day is a privilege that will only come once, with this particular set of circumstances and opportunities.  Be fully present.  Be with...  and then do with greater Purpose. 

Summer

Initiation How did we become who we are? To initiate and to be initiated are ancient and sacred tasks.  We can all honor this Law…include knowledge from other cultures

Shadow All the shame, guilt and repressed parts we hide, even from ourselves.  These unconscious aspects will sabotage our best efforts in life unless we learn to accept them.

Journey Your Journey has brought you to this place and these people, your fellow sojourners.  Think of their Journeys as well as your own.  Don’t miss the opportunities for learning and growth represented by this assembly of fellow souls.

Autumn

Forgiveness It is often the hardest thing we’ll ever do, and sometimes it is the only choice we have.  Forgive with your whole heart…this power does not come from your head.

Clarity We recognize Clarity the instant we see it.  The great seers and sages could see clearly because they had insight.  Their secret was their focus, inward, not outward.

Choices Most of us make Choices from a range that’s far too small, that diminishes us.  We let fear, confusion and other people’s opinions limit us.  How do we discover and consider our Choices before we make them?            

Winter

Renewal Think of Spring and the great lesson of that new season.  Renewal is at hand in every moment…there are those who can catalyze newness and growth for us all.

 Purification There is no denying that adults adulterate us, despite their best intentions.  We can decide to undo this.  Who here has not been blessed by the steaming grace of a good shower or the wonder of a hot bath?  What is the equivalent for our hearts and minds?

Surrender Not to give up, but to give over, is the essence of this Law.  Who here is wise enough to understand Surrender?  To live humbly for a cause, rather than to die nobly for one, begins to tell us what Power real Surrender holds.

The Law you were born under offers you an opportunity on a soul level.  Will you master the principle of that Law in this lifetime?  Will it master you?  As we circle round the Wheel of Life, everyone is given equal opportunity to live under each Law and absorb its lessons.
