Law_of_Introduction_West_Week Day 8

The being of God is like a Wheel, wherein many Wheels are made into one another, upwards, downwards, crossways and yet continually turn all of them together.  At which indeed, when a (wo)man beholds the Wheel, (s)he highly marvels.

Daily Guidance:

Some people have asked if the Wisdom Wheel interferes, or causes conflict with other religions or faith based traditions. We have heard and answered this question many times as you will see today.

Cynthia's Journal:

Some of the Glastonbury Circle Keeper graduatesIn the decade since its creation the Wisdom Wheel has already been introduced to Methodist, Episcopalian and Unitarian church groups, to name a few.  It has also been used by the Girl Scouts, the American Leadership Forum, Habitat for Humanity and General Electric executives among others.

Experience has taught us not to assume, or pre-judge the existence of prejudice against the Wisdom Wheel.  Good facilitation improves results but we have never met anyone who wholly rejected the concept of Universal Laws or was offended by them.  Our experience has included Jews, Muslims, Sikhs, lapsed Catholics, atheists and agnostics as well as people of all ages, educations and socio-economic levels.

Acceptance in general is dependent upon the level of interest, openness and curiosity about other ways.  Like the Native American spiritual traditions, the Wisdom Wheel is not a religion.  There is not a single ‘Holy Book’ to debate.  We try to include quotations from the scriptures of every faith, philosophers and spiritual leaders of every stripe.  Each person who sees the Wisdom Wheel is encouraged to use it to help them become more aware of their own experiences with these Laws.  Let it prepare us to more skillfully exchange our wisdom and knowledge with one another.

People might use different words or terms to describe their personal values, but time has shown us that these basic principles do form a recognizable common ground between global citizens.  The Wisdom Wheel and its 36 Laws are offered as a form of encouragement, and a forum for the sharing of wisdom we’ve all accumulated over our lifetimes.

Consider the Wisdom Wheel as a circular curriculum, useful for guiding study and conversation about any thing and everything, all faiths, religions, Nature and people.  Apply it and see how easy, and pleasant it is, to use this well-structured format.  Wheels have been around for 50,000 years because they are supremely practical.

During one of the World Parliament of Religions meetings in South Africa , a visiting delegation of Native Americans happened to set up a medicine wheel.  Over the days of the conference, it became the unexpected ‘meeting point.’  People would suggest to one another, ‘Meet me beside that Wheel’ because it quite naturally ‘gathered together’ the people, as it is designed to do.

There are many ways to remember the Creator.  The Wheel is one of those ways.  We hope it is always used to unify people and bring them closer to what we all share.
