It has been a long time since I wrote in the introduction blog. I have just read online that an Arab consortium from Abu Dhabi hae invested $7.5 billion into CitiCorp. When I think about the worth and wisdom of the Wisdom Wheel principles and values I know that if the decision makers had been studying the Wisdom Wheel they would not have made som eof the decisions they made and they would not have needed a bailout. Just studying two of the Laws, namely Balance and Integrity would have influenced their Choices.

Thinking of the impact that the sub prime mortgage mess is having on the economy it will eventually run in to the trillions of dollars that has been squandered, never mind the lives and careers ruined of so many individuals.

A new month begins, I wonder how many people were aware that it was a full moon last night? Some of our subscribers are wellinto their second year adn gaining a lot from this work and the Wisdom Wheel model of wholeness.

There are challenges introducing people to the wheel because they have no reference point. What value do we place on personal contentment, and having a sense of achievement in our lives? Someone asked me recently if there was an abridged version of this work. I replied , "Like life, we take it one day at a time, one law at a time."

For all the people out there who crave a more balanced life this is nervana. I am so moved by the positive feedback we have been receiving recently. For less than the price of a cup of coffee many people are learning and growing and I feel blessed to share in their Journey.

I just read that one million people die from heart attacks in this country each year. Not all, but many of those heart problems can literally be thought of as broken hearts. The Wisdom Wheel community helps people heal their hearts through sharing and having a sense of belonging.

Even if it is only via the online teaching, the feedback we are receiving tells us that folks are enjoying the daily emails and it is having a positive impact on all aspects of their life.

I know it can help many people regain a sense of Balance and possibly reduce the number of heart attacks taking place each year.

How do we show the real power of the Wisdom Wheel in a brief moment? What do we say to catch the eye of the casual visior? It is a friend for life that transcends the casual. It is always there when we need it, showing us the way, reminding us of the wisdom we'd forgotten we had.

These Choices entries have been very, very powerful. The entry for Nov 1st 2005 is remarkable. I commented to Cynthia that this entry should be sent to every college student in the country! Extract below.

"The Choices of the weak, and those of the strong, are not as absolute as Bonhoeffer implies. Being able to say ‘no’ to either/or Choices, when others are trying to make us chose is one thing, but coming up with better Choices requires a different kind of skill. You need a strong mind, strong heart and a strong stomach to resist being forced between two bad options, but where will the transcendent alternatives come from, if we don’t understand the Law of Choices?"....

The recent entries have been remarkable, I wish I had known about this model 20 years ago. I would have made wiser Choices! Even now I struggle given the plethora of paths available to us each day. How do we know what the correct Choice is? At least this model helps us feel connected to self. How much time and energy is spent trying to create connections of any type because we are afraid to be alone. Yesterday's entry (October 31st) is worth the whole Journey alone. The billions spent on medications in the USA treats the symptom not the cause. I have not been sick for years, in part because I have begun to understand my own flaws and idiosyncracies. Now I do not pretend and hold in my angst.

Combining just 2 Laws the Law of AWARENESS and the Law of CHOICES gives me a wonderful arsenal of decision making tools. Many companies flounder and stumble in the egoistic darkness attempting to create new markets and new revenue streams. The Wisdom Wheel model can help them in many ways.

Hello Cynthia and Malcolm and fellow circlekeepers. I write to voice my similar feelings of "how do we balance it all"? After all, the Wisdom/medicine Wheel is to teach us balance, right? I know what you mean Cynthia when you ask, "what do I keep, what do I give up" in order to maintain saneness, not to mention make a living at the same time! I honor your work (and your sacrifice) as you travel to the mainland to mentor others and also as you maintain the "web wheel". I, too, struggle with what to keep, what to let go of? Again it is all about balance. I need to listen to both my head and my heart to integrate logic and emotion. Sometimes I get stuck in just one and the wheel becomes lopsided. Between our head and our heart is the higher heart and of course, the seat of our voice. We need to give voice to whatever it is that we are holding in our heart or head. As we open our throat chakra and share with others we release blockages or stagnant energy and send our vibration out to the universe. Opening up to others may create feelings of vulnerability but we are also opening the door to oneness and sameness. give voice

As people come to the site and read the Visitor Blog, I'd like to tell one brief story about how the Wisdom Wheel would have saved me over $50,000! Just prior to being introduced to the Wisdom Wheel an ex girlfriend asked me to help her buy a house in the mid west. This was in early 2000 just before the technology bubble burst. It seemed like a good idea (at the time)

Anyway without going into the gory details I've lost my shirt on the deal, and realize that my reactive decision was based upon my Shadow. I didn't think through fully what I was doing, and having made the decision, felt I couldn't let someone down. I created a romatic notion in my mind of how it would all turn out.

Well, the old adage about location, location, location were even more appropriate in this case. Not only was the house in a poor location, I wasn't even there! If I had laid the question about purchase on the Wheel I would have asked four questions:

1. What does my brain think about this, is this a smart idea?

2. How do I feel about it?

3. What is the physical reality of owning a home 800 miles away and it's a very old house.

4. What does my spirit say concerning this decision?

In all 4 instances I can sense that instead of saying 'Yes', I would have said 'No". Now I rue that choice for it stops me saying 'Yes' to things because of the cost of this poor Choice. The Wisdom Wheel is just that an incredibly 'wise' tool that can be used to great effect. What price $5 or $10 a month to study this model when it can save you thousands of $$$.

Don't we all want to make smart choices? Sure we do, and the Wisdom Wheel can help. Want to increase your company profits, this is a great model to use. As times become uncertain don't we need methods to help us chart the turbulent waters of our lives?

I must have had rocks in my head when I decided to buy tht house, now I have rocks in my yard and it feels a whole lot better!

Good Morning Cynthia,
I just cannot imgaine you with anger on your face, I always see you with that warm welcoming smile on your face. I think its that countenance that assures people that this person is approachable and will not harm you. I see that expression during your stay here in Big Cove. Its a look that seems toindicate that you are where you want to be. Anyway I thought I would contribute today, Just those first few words startled me and I could not picture you "angry" but if you do get angry sometimes, that is perfectly understandable, these emotions are given to us from the Creator, but they are not meant for us to keep them , emotions like anger , bitterness and jealousy are for us to learn from and then let them go.to a dark place where they will harm no one.
take care
Peace,
Brian Francis

Having once begun and then not completed a full journey around the wheel, my intention this time is to complete it, and to really experience each law. I do know how it can enrich my life. I loved the introduction and it both reminded me of things I knew, and gave new information and insights about the wheel. What brought me back was the online capability which is really great. Although I miss the comraderie of the Glastonbury Group, I can feel close to them and you through this vehicle. Thanks Cynthia and Malcolm. The introduction provides much needed information that will make my second "journey" richer. What brought me back to the wheel was an issue of balance, internal pH balance. Hadn't considered it before, and it got me started thinking about balance. Now I can hardly wait to start working that law, and having the law work me.

I've just started receiving the Wisdom Wheel daily journal entries. I find them of great interest but need more examples of how I can use them in my life?

My life already feels overloaded, adding more stuff seems counter productive. How did you come up with those words on the stones and what is so special about the order.

I guess I should read the other pages more!!

Fred, I've often used the image of the tightrope walker when thinking of Balance. It is only an image. Try thinking of a child keeping a large box at the Balance point. At that point it requires minimal effort because of equal and opposite forces. Move away from the "center" and it becomes increasingly difficult. The infant couldn't pick up the object, but they surely could hold it in balance. As I get further and further away from my center of Balance it is harder and harder to get back. So we could conclude that a "Balanced" life is really one of a sequence of adjustments.

Most folks often don't even know how to get close to being in Balance in the first place, so their adjustments have various uncorrelated reference points. The power of the Wisdom Wheel model, is that it is structured, consistant and embracing. We agreed in class once, it is a launching pad and a landing pad at the same time. A vehicle for deep dialogue. By the way, just go to the Members area and blog the Law in question (Balance)

Just catching up on daily entries. It's good for me to read several days at once to get in the flow and have a little continuity, although I,m sure some folks would feel exactly the opposite. When I read the latest "batch", I made a couple of strong connections with places my journey has taken me.

A big question when I 'stumbled' onto the Red Road five years ago was "What is this 'balance' that everyone is talking about?" I struggled with the question for several days, Bothered by an image of a tight-rope walker 'balanced' on his tightrope. It wasn't a peaceful or reassuring image. I didn't want to be on a tightrope in my life, where a slip either way could be disastrous. Another image I wasn't comfortable with was one in which I was in the center of a broad beam of some sort, and had pushed all the 'stuff' that might tip the beam, out toward the ends of the beam, away from me so that I could remain safely in the center and would not be affected much if it tipped a little either way.

In this image I had effectively isolated myself from everything in an effort to stay "balanced". I could not accept either image as a way to live. It was one day while driving home from work that the image of a pendulum appeared to me. I was riding it through life, from one extreme to the other and experiencing everything in between, from pain to ecstacy, anguish to euphoria.I was unafraid to accept the bad, the difficult, the mundane, because I knew that there would also be good, joyful and exciting. Things would never stand still for me to say "O.K. Everthing is balanced now."

Rather, things would always be in motion but no matter how far the pendulum might swing in one direction, something which I now recognize as a Universal Law would make it swing back , and in that motion was to be found The Balance. I was immediately relieved and have used this image to work through problems ever since that day. It helps to look back at what I've 'swung past' to put into persective what it is that I'm swinging through now. There was a mention of the pendulum in one of the journal entries that I read tonight, and I was reminded of that first-time image and the peace that it brought me.

The other entry that made me smile was of Don Carlos, and his wonderfully simple but profound "formula" for life. His most important lesson for me was DONT TAKE ANYTHING PERSONALLY. It's an important lesson to remember and USE, especially when looking for that balance as I swing through life on my pendulum. I hope to learn to use this Blog in an effective way, and I would like to hear from other users of The Wheel.

Cynthia and Malcolm, This website and the daily journal have brought me to tears....of joy. It is so well-written, so heartfelt and easily understood. The design and graphics of the site are fabulous. It flows, it teaches, and it makes the wheel come to life. I congratulate you on your successful launch! There are a few typos here and there, which I am sure you caught.

Other than that, I can't complain about a thing. I will be subscribing at some point during the month- I wouldn't miss this for the world. I will also send it on to others. I am travelling a lot in the next three weeks, so I may not be able to focus on all that, but I will try. Light and Love to you both and to all the other circle-keepers, Kathy

Hi Malcolm and Cynthia,

Thank you for you sharings. Can I obtain a poster of the Wisdom Wheel signed by you both? I am organizing the Long Island Men's Center and would like to put it on the wall when we get a space. I will send you a copy of the proposal soon and will invite you to speak and do a workshop someday at our Annual Conference.
