Welcome to the Wisdom Wheel Law of Higher-Purpose # 11

‘Be certain that all members can clearly state the shared purpose by heart… It is for each individual to find their personal alignment between group purpose and their life’s purpose… Once ‘cross-purposes’ are released, the energies can flow freely, and Higher Purpose can be accomplished.'

Introduction to the Law of Higher-Purpose

It’s time to put down the Law of Trust so you can take up Higher Purpose, Law #11 on the Wisdom Wheel. Why do you think Higher Purpose anchors the Western Direction? This is the Goes-Within-Place, where the Earth and the human body are represented, along with the senses, dreams and intuition, healers and healing, death and rebirth, autumn and dusk, the raven and the bear, among other things.

Each month, you transit the Western quadrant under the new moon. During your Life Journey round the Wheel, you pass through this Direction at ages 15-17, 42-44, 69-71 and 96-98. Reflect on the time you’ve spent here. We are challenged to re-define our sense of Higher Purpose in this position. What are you living for? What gives your life meaning today?

In the teenage years, the question is, “What are you going to do when you grow up?”  During the mid-life crisis time, you might be asking your Self, “Now that I’ve done what everyone else wanted (parents & society) when am I going to figure out what I really want to do?” At 70, you may need to find new reasons to get up each morning.

Discovering our Higher Purpose is one of the hardest things about this LawResearch shows that ‘only 5% of Americans believe they are living out their Higher Purpose.’  This means 95% are not doing what they believe they should be doing with their lives. What are the costs of this; to our psyches, our health and our relationships?

If you Love what you do, you won’t need a mean supervisor, or the bribes of big raises and more benefits to keep you on the job.

Spend some time this month thinking about Higher Purpose. What has worked, and what hasn’t, as you’ve searched for yours.

-How would you help someone else discern their Higher Purpose

-What might change in the world if more people made finding their Higher Purpose their number one priority?

For homework this month, write about the connection between your Higher Purpose and your study of the Wisdom Wheel. Can the Wheel help illuminate Higher Purpose?

How? Use what you’ve learned so far to try using it for this purpose.

Notice that the Laws of Higher Purpose and Right Action form the East/West axis on the Wheel. They Balance each other, just as Trust and Integrity do on the North/South axis. These are key alignments on the compass of life. Knowing your Higher Purpose, will guide every other action you take. Likewise, you must ask yourself ‘What’s the Higher Purpose here?’ before making Commitments.

When looking for clues to Higher Purpose, begin with the Birth Law and what balances it…  Consider the person’s element, and the archetype that guards the side of the Wheel where they were born. It is worth noting why we entered the Wheel of Life at a certain time of the year. We have a place and a Higher Purpose to fulfill in the grand scheme of things. Good luck with your Higher Purpose.

Many Blessings,  Malcolm and Cynthia Davidson
