Brexit and the Law of Choices

There’s a saying: “A week is a long time in politics”.

As many of you know, I am British and this saying was proven yet again this week in my motherland. This week’s referendum was an example of the Law of Choices on a national (even global) scale.

Apparently, the majority of British voters feel that the Right Action is to “Leave” the European Union. Will their Faith in England be rewarded? Time will tell, I suppose.

In my humble opinion, the “Remain” campaign was not in Right Relationship with the English folks outside of London. Their campaign lacked an Awareness of the gap between the “haves” and the “have-nots”.  Many in the “Leave” camp do not Trust the political leaders in London, much less in Brussels.

Fear also fueled the decision to “Leave”. People are fearful of the immigration crisis, open borders, and Europeans (and refugees) taking English jobs.

However, England’s Journey back to self-sufficiency is having global repercussions. The Pound Sterling has dropped to a 30-year low and the stock markets are tumbling. Even my small English pension is worth much less, but I can deal with that. This is a lesson I am taking with me on a personal level. It’s important that we all maintain an inner sense of Balance and self-sufficiency while chaos reigns in the outer world.

Good luck to my country of birth. May there be Right Relationship now between those who chose to Leave and those who chose to Remain.

Pope Francis and the Law of Choices

In this series of posts, we place the lives of newsmakers on the Wheel to better understand them and show how this wisdom works. If you’d like to learn where you’re currently living on the Wheel, or guidance with finding your purpose, I also do one-on-one consultations.

Let’s look at Jorge Mario Bergoglio, more commonly known as Pope Francis. The current leader of the Catholic Church was born in Buenos Aires on December 17th, 1936. That makes his Birth Law Choices, balanced by the Law of Eternal Present.

We all enter the world under one of twelve gateways of the Star Wheels (aka constellations). The Law of Choices lies in the Northwest quadrant between the place of the Healers and Visionaries. So Pope Francis, and anyone else born under Choices, can drawn upon the energies of these two archetypes, Healer and Visionary (if you’d like to learn more about Birth Laws and archetypes, download our free introduction booklet).

Francis has made remarkable personal Choices as pope. He avoids Vatican luxuries, preferring to stay in a modest guesthouse rather than isolate himself in the palace, and riding in Fiats instead of limos. His clothing is also plain. No red shoes for him.

I admire Pope Francis’s Choice of vocabulary, too. A recent article (which I’m still looking for) points out that he speaks solely in positive statements. “I am for…” and never “I am against…”. What a wonderful way for a leader to communicate.

Fire is his element. Francis’s Choices, such as inviting divorcees and those who have had abortion back to the church, have ignited fervor. And not all of it is in his favor.

His work is cut out for him. At 78, he’s living under the Law of Purification, which balances the Shadow on the Wheel. Time to bring things into the light so they can be healed. Many of the Pope’s recent projects reflect this Purification and healing: from (finally) addressing climate change to restoring diplomatic relations between old stalemates US and Cuba.

We’d love to hear your thoughts on Pope Francis and Choices. And if there is someone in particular you’d like to see profiled under the Wisdom Wheel, let us know in the comments below!
