Time to take up the Law of Process and there are 30 more Laws to study. By now you are familiar with the Process. The best teacher of this Law is Nature Herself. Pay attention to the Earth and the way change is processed. As we are carried through the Life Cycles and the Seasons, we are participating energetically in the annual Process of germination, growth, fullness and the falling away. Take notes this month on the natural Process all around you. What are the birds are doing? What is happening to the trees? And how do these changes in the environment affect your mental, emotional, physical and spiritual Process?
The 36 Universal Laws on the Wisdom Wheel are also known as natural and/or spiritual laws. Creation itself is full of teachings about the timeless truths of Balance, Right Relationship, Cause & Effect. This is why we say that Nature is our best teacher. And learning firsthand, from Creators’ Creation, is the best way. It removes doubt for it is the level of absolutes. Nothing manmade endures like Nature does. Nature is the ground of our being.
This month focus on your own learning Process as it is key to the way you change your mind and change your life. Watch yourself, doing, or not doing, your work with the Wheel. Try to discover the reasons for lack of diligence for instance. As you leave behind the recent lessons of Cause & Effect, remember that the Law of Process reminds us of the long term consequences. Life is not a ‘one-off’ event. It‘s a long Process, an endless series of Causes and Effects that add up to a whole Process.
Think about the relationship between progress and Process. Birthdays are one way we mark our progress as we move around the Great Wheel of Life. As we go from Infant to Child, Adult to Elder, whether we’re ready or not, the Process unfolds. We need to have a perspective that helps us prepare gracefully for each stage as it approaches.
The Taoists have a principle called ‘wu wei’ that describes this Process. It means ‘action through inaction.’ It infers that it is pointless to exert effort that goes against Nature. Part of understanding Process is to know when and how to allow matters to resolve themselves. The 12 Step Serenity Prayer is an example of this, as it cites the ‘wisdom to know the difference’ between what you can change, and what you must accept.
Anne Schaef has a book, Living in Process and The Process of God essay in the book For the Love of God is another resource on the subject. You could say that religion itself is a prescribed Process for relating to God. We hope you are enjoying the Wisdom Wheel Process.
Many Blessings,
Cynthia & Malcolm Davidson
